People belonging to different walks of life have strongly criticized the poor performance of the district administration as a result of which the shopkeepers fleecing the consumers with both the hands in Sialkot and in other tehsils of the district. They alleged that district administration had badly failed to control the prices of articles daily use and it seems that administration supporting them and trying to snatch not only the bread and butter but also mental peace as a result of which people dislike the present government and political leaders on hoodwink the innocent messes.
According to a survey conducted by Business Recorder in rural and urban areas people were of opinion that government was deliberately ignoring the basic problems of general public and salaried class of the country due to unknown reasons. Continuous bombardment in the shape of taxes was an attempt to create fuss and chaos among the masses just to camouflage its negligence and ineffective polices. The government has snatched the bread and butter of the masses as a result of which the life had become miserable they said. They further stated that government has failed to provide relief to the common man in its budget 2017-18 and had imposed taxes on different articles of daily use. The new budget was an attempt to divert the attention of the people hoodwinking and betraying the poor masses they said.
The female consumers while expressing their views said that Federal and provincial governments had totally flapped in controlling the price hike. They alleged that it seems that district administration of Sialkot had bowed its knee in front of profiteers and hoarders and nobody dare to check this malpractice and the miseries were multiplying every day. They also alleged that there was no visible sign of the existence of so-called price control committees in Sialkot.
