Heat wave spell is likely to continue during Ramazan as hot weather simmered the city on Tuesday. Temperature in Jiwani surged all time high to maximum 48 degrees Celsius breaking the previous one of 45.7 on May 25, 1992, the Met Office said. Sizzling weather slapped Turbat with 51, Sibbi 49, Jacobabad, Dadu, Larkana and Gwadar 48 each, Lasbela, Moenjodaro, Sukkur and Rohri 47 each, Rahim Yar Khan, Shaheed Benazirabad and Padidan 46 each, during the day.
According to the Heat Wave Early Warning Centre Karachi; of the Met Office the city's horizons are expected to remain mostly sunny with maximum temperatures between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius and 80 percent humidity on May 31 and June 1. The Met forecast dust-thunderstorm/rain with gusty winds for isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan, Bannu, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Faisalabad and Lahore Divisions, besides Islamabad, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. Mainly hot and dry weather is likely elsewhere in the country.
