A security guard allegedly killed two people including a lady health worker over a monetary dispute in Shahdara area on Wednesday, police officials said. The accused was caught by the locals who handed him over to the police when he tried to flee the scene after committing the crime.
Police identified the accused as Sheikh Sawood. They identified the deceased as Sobia and Alam Sher who died instantly and their bodies were shifted to the mortuary for autopsy, police added. Officials said initial investigation into the matter suggested the victims had failed to pay back the money to accused which forced him for taking this extreme step. Apparently, it was the case of monetary dispute, they opined.
They said at least two pedestrians also sustained injuries and were later shifted to a local hospital. However, doctors discharged them after providing first medical aid. Police have registered a case against the accused and started investigation. Meanwhile, police personnel conducted search operations in different parts of the city. They also carried out a search operation in Shafiqabad after getting information about the presence of criminals. During the operation, police personnel carried out biometric verification of the suspects and nabbed around six suspects who failed to prove their identities, a police spokesman said.
