The Met Office on Saturday forecast heat waves will continue to grip the city for another two days - Sunday and Monday. Weather in Karachi is expected to remain partly cloudy with maximum temperature between 36 and 38 degrees celsius and humidity up to 85 percent on June 4 and June 5. In the next 24 hours: Very hot weather is expected to prevail over the plain areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Hot and dry weather is likely elsewhere in the country.
However, rain-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara and Rawalpindi Divisions, besides Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during evening/night. "Continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country," the Met said. Dadu and Sibbi were the hottest places with 48 degrees celsius, each, Rahim Yar Khan 47, Jacobabad, Shaheed Benazirabad, Padidan, Larkana and Nokkundi 46, each, in the last 24 hours.
