It gives me immense pleasure witness the newly established STDC Sindh Transmission and Dispatch Company Pvt Ltd for achieving successful completion of first ever provincial 132KV double circuit transmission line from Sindh Nooriabad Power Company Ltd to K-Electric grid station scheme-33.
Energy is the cornerstone of every country's economy. Pakistan faces precarious challenges in ensuring steady transmission of power for smooth industrial & commercial operations and domestic consumption. The government of Sindh took this initiative, as envisioned in article 157 (2) of the constitution of Pakistan, by establishing a company that solely works for the betterment of power transmission at provincial level.
Timely completion of this project evinces sound management practices of STDC technical team. This further enhances my belief that Pakistan, especially Sindh, is enriched with both the factors required for a nation to achieve sustainable development ie natural and human resources. We need to harness the available energy to develop and successfully utilize these resources.
Sindh Transmission and Dispatch Company Pvt Ltd provides a bond between the producers of power and the consumers by evacuating power safely through transmission line. As a developing economy, we need such quality initiatives and projects in the energy sector. This will build the confidence and level of trust in domestic and foreign investors to fortify the economic growth. Keeping all of this in consideration STDC has been a great achievement of the Government of Sindh.
STDC highlights the commitment of the government of Sindh in the energy sector to adopt innovative ideas, enhance efficiencies and maximize outputs. I wish to place on record my appreciation for Agha Wasif Abbas Secretary (Energy), Government of Sindh for adroit professionalism and successfully leading the department of Energy. I also wish to commend STDC team for their hard work and dedication. May the future endeavors of STDC also be successful.
