Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi Thursday exchanged greetings with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at Kazakhstan's capital Astana to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Summit, according to Aaj News quoting Indian media. Both the leaders were at the leaders' lounge at an Opera in the evening before the concert and banquet hosted by Kazakhstan president Nursultan Nazarbayev.
According to channel, Modi and Sharif exchanged greetings. Since it was the first occasion when the two leaders came across each other after Sharif's operation, Modi enquired about his health. Indian Prime Minister Modi also enquired about Sharif's mother and family. This was their first meeting since 2015 when Modi flied down to Lahore on a surprise visit.
During the banquet the two leaders were not seated on the same table. Both India and Pakistan will be inducted as full members of the SCO. No official meeting was scheduled between Modi and Sharif at the two-day-long SCO Summit amid a thaw in bilateral relations.
