The fact-finding team of National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has reportedly held KE and Hesco responsible for massive electricity load-shedding. According to sources, KE has not performed as per the contract with respect to investment to improve the system. The fact-finding team has proposed a fine of Rs 10 million on the KE for failing to meet its obligations.
Likewise the distribution system of Hesco is also in worst condition. The team has recommended Rs 4 million fine on Hesco for not ensuring smooth electricity to the consumers. The Nepra's team has also recommended legal action against both the power utilities in accordance with the Nepra Act.
