June 12 is being observed as World Day Against Child Labour every year. The Global Slavery Index, 2016, ranked Pakistan at six out of 167 countries. According to the Index, 58% of people living under slavery reside in 5 countries, namely: India, China, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Uzbekistan. The World Day Against Child Labour this year (2017) will focus on the impact of conflicts and disasters on child labour. When it comes to the impact of conflicts and disasters on child labour, it must be very high in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) regions, unfortunately however, there is no specific focus on the subject.
