The Karachi Port handled 305,057 tonnes of cargo comprising 145,362 tonnes of import cargo and 159,695 tonnes of export cargo including 8,104 loaded and empty containers during the last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 145,362 tonnes comprised of 83,479 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,033 tonnes of general cargo; 29,761 tonnes of bulk cargo: 13,300 tonnes of coal; 12,239 tonnes of fertilizer; 4,222 tonnes of soyabean meal and 30,089 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 159,695 tonnes comprised of 41,796 tonnes of containerised cargo; 5,031 tonnes of general cargo; 30,000 tonnes of coal; 13,706 tonnes of fertilizer; 5,562 tonnes of soyabean meal and 63,600 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 8,104 containers comprising of 4,296 containers mport and 3,808 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,338 of 20's and 1,301 of 40's loaded while 42 of 20's and 157 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 427 20's and 362 40's loaded containers while 66of 20's and 994 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were eleven ships namely MSC Krittika, Al Farahidi, CMA CGM Puget, MT Lahore, Najdiah, Chemroad Fuji, Nautical Alice, Stove Caledonia, Bsle Nina, Sl Teal and Han Xin carrying containers, oil takners, coal and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were nine vessels viz. Sima Genesis, Hyundai Faith, Kota Lahir, New Ark, Mid Falcon, Zao Galaxy, Sinar Kutai, Bsle Nina and Han Xin carrying containers, oil tankers, coal and general cargo respectively currently at the berths. There were four ships namely Hyundai Faith, New Ark, Chemroad Sakura and Lian Hua Song carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea on Monday, while three ship namely Sima Genesis, Kota Lahir and Calix carrying containers and meal respectively are expected to sail on Tuesday.
There were four vessels viz. Clemens Schulte, UAFL Zanzibar, Hyperion Highway and Star Jiang carrying containers and coal respectively due to arrive on Monday while four vessels viz. YM Cypress, Prosper, Iasonas and Al Mahboobah carrying containers, mogas and chemical respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 134,952 tonnes comprising 74,000 tonnes of import cargo and 60,952 tonnes of export cargo including 3,393 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 74,000 tonnes includes 17,487 tonnes of diesel oil; 9,967 tonnes of furnace oil; 5,500 tonnes of palm oil; 7,778 tonnes of soyabean; 8,993 tonnes of coal; 2,376 tonnes of chemical; 25,381 tonnes of coal and 3,515 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 60,952 tonnes includes 60,952 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 3,393 containers comprising of 185 containers import and 3,208 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. There were four ships namely CV Hermes, MV Yua Hi, MV Ginga Cheetah and MT YM Jupiter carrying containers, general cargo, chemical and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while another ship namely CV MOL Partner carrying containers is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels viz. CV MOL Partner, CV Hansa America, MV Yuan Hai, MV Eternal Triumph, MV Almyros, MV Calipso, MV Ginga Cheetah, MT New Naxos and MT YM Jupiter currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, general cargo, coal, soyabean seeds, chemical, furnace oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as twenty-one ships namely MV Mid Nature, MV Star Trader, MV Safizaya Diaono, MV Fidias, MV Yang Ze LO, MV Friendly Seas, MV Nautical Alice, MV Othonet, MT White Pearl, MT Maga Rita, MT Al-Salam-II, MT Bahra, MT Bneider, MT Pacific Panama, MT Jag Lavanya, MT Pavina Spirit, MT Cerulean, MT Banga Angelica, MT Argent Daisy and NCC Maha carrying chemical, soyabean, canola seeds, coal, LPG, diesel oil, furnace oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. CV MSC Algeciras, CV Prosper, MV Othonet, MT Cerulean and NCC Maha carrying containers, LPG and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Grain & Fertilizer Terminal, SSGC LPG Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Monday. There were three ships namely CV Prosper, CV MSC Mession and MV Sea Con carrying containers and steel coils respectively due to arrive on Monday, while two ships namely CV New Ark and Northern Monnument carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday.
