Plea against Dar: LHC seeks reply from federal government

The Lahore High Court on Tuesday sought reply from the federal government by November 7 in a petition challenging powers of federal finance minister to present supplementary budget. A citizen, Mahmood Akhtar submitted that the federal cabinet had empowered Finance Minister Ishaq Dar to present supplementary budget. He said the federal government only had to approve such budgets and not the finance minister. He said delegating powers of the cabinet to a minister was violation of a Supreme Court verdict.
