The Punjab government has decided to upgrade the 622 secondary schools to the level of higher secondary schools in the province. These schools are situated in different districts of the province. The subject of technical education will be introduced in the upgraded schools.
In this regard, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has constituted a high-level committee in the chair of provincial schools education Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan. Provincial Ministers Malik Nadeem Kamran, Mansha Ullah Butt, Secretary Schools Education Dr Allah Bakhsh Malik and others are included in this committee. The meeting of this committee was held at the committee room of schools education department with schools education Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan in the chair. Provincial Ministers Malik Nadeem Kamran, Mansha Ullah Butt, Secretary Schools Education Dr Allah Bakhsh Malik and concerned officers attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed different aspects pertaining to the up gradation of 622 high schools to the level of higher education and observed that this innovative plan would benefit the students in a number of ways. Provincial Minister Rana Mashhood said that the purpose of this programme is to provide market oriented education to the youth so that children of low income families could earn their livelihood in an honorable way. This programme is part of educational vision of Punjab Government to provide quality education so that students could excel through the ladder of education. This programme would equally benefit the girls who would learn beneficial technical and vocational courses to provide economic support their families, concluded the Minister.
