Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Saturday said that the number of terrorist incidents surge in Pakistan whenever the designated crossing points at joint border with Afghanistan are opened. The interior minister said this while talking to Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Bilal Akbar on phone, adding whenever the crossing points at joint boarder are opened the country witnesses the increased acts of terrorism.
They agreed that monitoring at these crossing points should be made more effective to ensure strict vigilance of people moving across these points. According to a statement issued by the spokesman for Ministry of Interior, Khan said that it is a matter of great concern that terrorists' activities in Afghanistan are always linked with Pakistan without any verification but western countries do not take any notice of involvement of foreign hand in terrorists' activities in Pakistan.
The minister also talked to Director General Rangers Sindh, Major General Muhammad Saeed and Inspector General FC Balochistan Major General Nadeem Ahmad. The minister also sought details of the evidence collected with respect to terrorists attack in Quetta, Parachinar and Karachi. Such incidents occurred despite provision of security alerts and relevant information to the provincial governments by the Ministry of Interior which is a matter of great concern.
Khan expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise of precious lives in these incidents. He said the main objective of terrorist activities is to create confusion among the masses. The minister said that it should be investigated why no protective measures are taken after receiving information with regard to expected terrorist attacks in Parachinar.
He directed the Frontier Constabulary and Rangers to arrest individuals, facilitators and group involved in the terrorist activities by employing all resources including information provided by intelligence agencies. He directed to chalk out an effective strategy to ensure protection of people's lives and properties during next few days particularly on the occasion of Eidul Fitr. He also paid a rich tribute to those police officials who were martyred during terrorist activities in the country.
