Awami Raj Party MNA Jamshed Ahmed Dasti on Tuesday got warm welcome on his return to Muzaffargarh, a day after getting bail in provocative speech case. The supporters flocked to the Chenab Bridge, danced and threw flowers as the MNA came out of his vehicle.
Talking to the media, Dasti claimed that the jail administration left him inside a room full of rats and snakes and also subjected him to the mental torture. He further lashed out at the Sharif brothers, saying that Nawaz Sharif surrendered before a dictator and ran away, but I faced all the problems calmly.
Jamshed Dasti expressed that he is thankful to the chief justices of Supreme Court and Lahore High Court for taking suo moto notice of the matter. Responding to a question related to his marriage, Jamshed Dasti said that he will tie knot after next elections and will also invite Sharif brothers on his wedding.
Earlier on Monday, Jamshed Dasti was released from jail after the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) granted bail to him in provocative speech case over surety bonds worth Rs 1 lac. It is worth mentioning here that Awami Raj party lawmaker breached the authority and forcibly opened a canal on May 28 after which irrigation department lodged a case against him. Chief Minister of Punjab Shehbaz Sharif and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also took notice of the incident and directed stern action against him. Jamshed Dasti was later on remanded for six days to police custody on June 23.
