US corn futures rose to their highest level since June 2016 on Friday, supported by forecasts for hot and dry weather that could hinder crop development, traders said. Gains were kept in check by a US Agriculture Department report that showed weekly export sales of corn at a smaller-than-expected 214,700 tonnes (old-crop and new-crop combined), the lowest since June 2014. Traders also noted profit-taking at session highs.
