Former Home Minister & PPP MPA Dr Makhdoom Rafique Zaman has taken serious notice of back door illegal appointments process by the Vice Chancellor of Sufi University of Bhitshah without advertisement and proper procedure of interviews involving selection committee.
The illegal process of recruitment on gazetted posts was under way in Sufi University violating prescribed rules and regulations. When this matter surfaced and came to the knowledge of Makhdoom Rafique, he immediately took serious notice of the irregularities; talked to the Sindh Chief Minister and Secretary Higher Education Commission and brought this matter into their Knowledge. He requested the Chief Minister Sindh for taking serious notice of the issue, conducting inquiry and taking strict action against Sufi University administration and Vice Chancellor of the University.
Dr Makhdoom Rafique also pointed out that same practices were adapted for the appointments of lower employees of the University and again this time due process for appointments on posts of Grade 18 to 20 was not followed and officers and lecturers were being appointed illegally violating the rules and regulations and open merit.
He further said that all the appointments made by university administration without due process would be declared illegal and for new recruitment rules and regulations would be strictly followed to ensure merit so that competent and capable lecturers, officers and lower staff could be appointed.
