Pakistan former captain turned cricket commentator, Ramiz Raja has termed speed sensation Shaheen Shah Afridi as a gem for the Pakistan cricket team.

“Shaheen is a great find for Pakistan, he got the height, is able to extract extra bounce on any kind of pitch, has variation of pace and has the ability to bowl at top speeds,” said Raja, quoted Ramiz Speaks.

The teenager played a crucial role for Pakistan in its victory against the Black Caps, which came after a series of losses. Afridi grabbed 4-wickets in his eight overs restricting New Zealand to well below par target of 209 runs in their 50-overs on Friday.

Raja further praised Afridi for the way he bowled Tom Latham terming it ‘the delivery of the match.’   “He has a superb temperament, and is able to absorb pressure at tough situations, he is a gem for Pakistan,” he added.

After leveling the series 1-1, Pakistan will take on New Zealand in the third and final-one day international at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
