The office bearers of Hyderabad Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industry have emphasized the need for taking precautionary measures by the administration in order to effectively meet the challenges of expected heavy rains of monsoon season.
In a statement issued here on Thursday, the President HCSTSI Muhammad Akram Ansari, Senior Vice President Sikandar Ali Rajput and Vice President Doulat Ram Lohan have expressed their grave concern over non-formation of strategy from the local government institutions to rescue and relief the citizens in case of any emergency during expected heavy rains.
They said that no de-silting of drain lines was carried out, resultantly they have no capacity of disposing the rainwater during the rainfalls. In case of accumulation of rainwater, the citizens of Hyderabad could face great hardship of their lives and property as well as damages to streets and roads, they said. They called upon the Mayor Hyderabad Syed Tayyab Hussain as well as Managing Director Water and Sanitation Agency and the district administration to ensure the de-silting of the drainage system in order to avert any untoward incident during the expected heavy rainfalls of monsoon season.
