Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) has announced its election schedule for the year 2017-18. During this process, election will be held to elect seven executive committee members from the corporate, 7 from the associate class and one woman against the reserved seat. Similarly, three office bearers including President, Senior Vice President and Vice President will also be elected during this process.
The election schedule will commence from July 14, 2017 which would be completed on September 27, 2017. The election schedule was formerly approved in the executive committee of FCCI held here Thursday. The executive committee also approved a three member election commission to conduct the election in a fair, free and impartial manner.
It will be consisting of Mian Aftab Ahmed of Hilal Textile Corporation (Private) Limited, Shahid Ahmed Sheikh of Haroon Saleem Industries (Private) Limited and Hajji Muhammad Shafi of Paras Hosiery. According to the election schedule, the final voter's list will be displayed on FCCI notice board on August 21, 2017. It would also be uploaded on the FCCI website in addition to submitting it to the Regulator.
Nomination papers for the vacant posts of member's executive committee shall be received on August 22, 2017. In the same manner Women Entrepreneurs desiring to contest election for the reserved seat in the executive committee for women can submit their nomination papers on the same day.
After the completion of scrutiny and process of appeals etc, the final list of the nominated candidates for all the members who are eligible to participate in the election will be displayed on Septembers 9, 2017. The polling for the corporate class will be held on September 12, 2017 followed by polling for the associate class on September 13, 2017. The election commission shall also conduct election for the women reserved seat on September, 14, 2017.
Counting of votes shall take place immediately after the polling under the supervision of the election commission and the provisional result for the corporate and associate class will be announced on September 12 and 13 respectively.
Any elected member of executive committee can send has nominated for election as an office bearer on September 15, 2017. The list of contesting candidates after the scrutiny of nomination papers will be displayed on the notice board of FCCI on September 16, 2017, while the polling for the election of office bearers will be held on September 18, 2017. The final result of the election of member of executive committee and office bearers shall be announced officially on September 27, 2017 during Annual General Body meeting of the FCCI.
