Apart from smartphones, Samsung has also been releasing exceptional TVs including high-end home theater systems. Trying out something new, the tech giant is now making smart TVs that can be controlled by brain.

Partnering with Swiss scientists, Samsung introduced its ‘Project Pontis’ that will yield the first smart TV that can be controlled by thoughts. The goal is to build up a brain/software interface that will permit individuals with movement disabilities to control TV features such as channel switching and volume control with their brains rather than their bodies, reported CNET.

At present, the system unites brain monitoring sensors and eye-tracking hardware to identify what selections the individual intends to make. For the future, the team aims to make the system smart enough to accept commands through the brain commands alone for users who cant control their eyes or muscles reliably. This means that individual would only need to think about changing the volume and the action will be done.

Furthermore, the technology is specifically aimed for people suffering with disabilities and Samsung has not yet hinted if this would be a commercially available product. For now, the product is in early stages and Samsung is likely to release a prototype next year, reported BGR.
