Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly, Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah Thursday said that Sharif family should submit record with the Supreme Court regarding Panama Papers case in accordance with the speech of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the Lower House of the Parliament. Talking to media persons in his chamber, the opposition leader said that the Prime Minister's lawyers has submitted same old documents in new form with the apex court. He said that the PM in his speech had also offered to constitute a parliamentary committee for the accountability of corrupt people.
He said that the PM also presented some record of his property to the Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq. He said, "Neither the parliamentary committee was constituted nor it was presented any record in this regard." He claimed that the ruling party continues its attacks on the Supreme Court and the joint investigation team (JIT) report instead of replying to the questions and presenting authentic record. "Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is nervous nowadays that is why he is inaugurating incomplete projects," he alleged.
Shah said that he has also written a letter to the speaker National Assembly regarding the documents presented by the Prime Minister. He said that the PM claimed to submit all evidence with the Parliament, while he has actually nothing in his defence. He declared the statements of PML-N an attack on the Supreme Court.
He said the record tampering has been proved against Chairman Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) Zafar Hijazi, adding that PML-N is still favouring him to save him from punishment. Shah said the Prime Minister has linked development projects to the Panama Papers case, saying they will only consider those inaugurations to be carried out on completion of projects.
