Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) and Lahore General Hospital (LGH) Principal Professor Ghiyas-un-Nabi Tayyab has called for following the principles of cleanliness and hygiene so as to check spread of diseases. Speaking at a workshop here at the Lahore General Hospital (LGH) on Friday, Tayyab said that proper waste management in private and public sector hospitals is a must to control infection. He pointed out that constant measures should be adopted to ensure standard and quality of cleanliness.
In-charge Infection Control Lahore General Hospital Nurse Qurat-ul-Ain said that doctors, nurses, para-medical staff, patients and their attendants should work in a team for maintaining neat and clean atmosphere to check spread of diseases. Other speakers emphasised the need for raising awareness among people for maintaining proper hygiene. Unnecessary visit of children in the hospitals must be avoided and proper disposal of used syringes, drips and other medical equipment are also important to check infection, they said.
