Director General (DG) Punjab Food Authority (PFA), Noor-ul-Amin Mengal will be invited to have direct interaction with the businessmen dealing in food and confectionery, said Rana Muhammad Sikandar Azam, Acting President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI). Talking to a delegation in his office here on Friday, he termed FCCI as the mother of all trade bodies and said that we are bound to protect the legitimate interests of the business community in addition to playing role as a bridge between the government and the business community.
Our ultimate objectives are to facilitate the businessmen by raising their problems at the appropriate government forums "thus it will help government to take necessary constitutional and administrative steps to resolve their problems on top priority basis," he added. Rana Sikandar Azam urged upon the businessmen to get the membership of (FCCI) to strengthen this trade body. "It will also help FCCI to play its role for the immediate solution of their genuine problems", he said and added being patriotic Pakistani we all should pay taxes as without it we could neither run the state organizations nor undertake the development projects for the welfare of the masses.
He further said that all businessmen should also become filers as in this case they will be entitled for many concessions and incentives. Commenting on the business of the food and confectionery, Rana Sikandar said that the media is projecting this issue in a negative manner and it is a matter of concern for all of us. He said that cleanliness and adulteration are declared social and moral crimes and we should try our best to promote cleanliness with a clear objective to discourage any form of adulteration in eatable products.
He said that Punjab Food Authority has been created to provide pure food to the masses. "It should not to be used to panelize or create harassment among the business community", he added. Supporting the demand of the businessmen that their shops or bakeries should not to be sealed till the receipt of laboratory report of the food samples collected from their shops, bakeries or factories, he said that their media trial before they were proven guilty is also objectionable that is badly affecting their normal businesses and reputation.
The function was also address by former president FCCI Rehan Naseem Bhrarah, Haji Muhammad Abid, Chaudhary Talat Mehmood, Muhammad Latif Cheema, Chuadhary Muhammad Asghar, Chaudhary Muhammad Booota, Shakil-ul-Rehman, Shahid Mumtaz Bajwa and Haji Muhammad Saleem.
