DHA-ATF Super Series under-14 Tennis Championship-2017 under the aegis of Asian Tennis Federation was held at Defence Authority Creek Club from 17 July to 21 July, 2017. An impressive prize distribution ceremony was held at the conclusion of the tournament at DHA Creek Club on Friday in which Secretary DHA, Brig Naeem Azhar Lone (retd) was the chief guest.
More than 17 young tennis players from all over the country including under 14 players of national / international ranking participated in the tournament. Two foreign players from Iran and Afghanistan who had confirmed their participation however missed the tournament due to some inordinate reasons.
The promising tennis players showed their tremendous skill and talent during the 5 days tournament played at the international level hard courts of Creek Club.
Secretary DHA appreciated Defence Authority Creek Club for organizing a spectacular tennis tournament in which a large number of potential tennis players participated. He said that holding of such mega tournaments is encouraging as they help in promotion of tennis in the country. The chief guest added that tennis like any sports was a lively activity that reflects healthy and positive trends in society so essential for an enlightened, progressive and prosperous nation.
Hashish Kumar won the Boys Single Final in a fiercely contested match by Adil Khan. It was a thrilling and interesting encounter in which both players showcased their talent, speed and superb control of the ball. The Girls Single Final was won by Maha Said who beat Varisha Khan with consummate ease to win the title. At the end the chief guest distributed trophies and prizes among the winners in various categories. A large number of tennis lovers, Asian Tennis Federation officials and DHA officers attended the ceremony.-PR
