At least five children were injured when an 'old' hand grenade went off during recess near a private school in Shamozai area of Swat on Wednesday. The children were playing near a pile of mud when the grenade buried near an under-construction detonated, police officials said. The children were shifted to Saidu Sharif hospital for immediate treatment.
According to the hospital staff, the children were aged between seven and 10. Meanwhile, three people have lost their lives in different incidents in Shabqadar and Sardhero areas of Charsadda. According to details, unidentified assailants have gunned down a local cleric of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI) Qari Haq Nawaz in Matta Mughal Khel village of Shabqadar in Charsadda. Qari Haq Nawaz, who was overseeing Jamia Muammadiyah, was going to offer Fajr prayer when the assailants opened indiscriminate fire on him. As a result, Haq Nawaz embraced martyrdom on the spot. Meanwhile, two people were killed in firing between two groups over a trivial issue in Sardhero area of Charsadda.
