Nawaz Sharif's profile has been taken down after the Supreme Court (SC) disqualified him as a Member of the National Assembly (MNA). The SC, in its verdict of Panama Papers Case, found Nawaz Sharif guilty of not declaring his asset details of FZE Company while filing nomination papers for the elections and disqualified him as a parliamentarian.
Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had issued the notification of his disqualification on Friday. His name and profile was also taken down from the website of Parliament's lower house. Meanwhile, the administration of Karachi's Jinnah International Airport has removed Nawaz Sharif's portrait following his disqualification as Prime Minister. The portrait of Nawaz Sharif, which was hung alongside Quaid-e-Azam and President Mamnoon Hussain was taken off by the airport authorities.
The federal cabinet was automatically dissolved following his disqualification as it cannot function without the prime minister. Sharif also lost the ownership of his own party under the Political Parties Act 2002 which states that a disqualified individual cannot hold a party office. Earlier, the SC sent the copies of Panamagate Case judgment to the secretaries of President House and Prime Minister Secretariat. The copy was also sent to Interior Ministry and National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
