A meeting of the House Business Advisory Committee has decided that Electoral Reforms Bill would be tabled in the ongoing session of the National Assembly. The meeting chaired by Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq took place hours before the sitting of the National Assembly convened on Tuesday to elect new leader of the house after former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was disqualified by the Supreme Court in Panama Papers case.
The meeting decided about the rules and procedure and agenda for the ongoing session in consultation with the members of the advisory committee - both from treasury and opposition parties. The advisory committee decided that current session would continue till August 11, 2017; however, Tuesday's sitting would be adjourned till Friday 10:00am after electing the new prime minister.
