The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) observed 'Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Police' today to honour the sacrifices rendered by police officers in the line of duty, says a press release. Prayer ceremonies and vigils were arranged at NHMP Lines Headquarters in Islamabad and various locations on National Highways and Motorways. IG NHMP Shaukat Hayat, Additional IG Dr Syed Kaleem Imam, DIG Ghulam Rasul Zahid, AIG Log Najeeb-ur-Rehman, Sector Commander N-5 (North-II) Waheed Khatak, SP HQ Syeda Zahida Bukhari and several other NHMP officers and the families of martyrs attended the events.
"The martyrdom of brave cops lightens up the society," Addressing a prayer ceremony, the IG NH&MP Shaukat Hayat said that martyrdom of policemen rinsed all stains on the police department. He said that NHMP martyrs were exceptionally courageous officers, who had tremendous confidence and zest for life. The country as well as the NHMP is proud of them, Souvenirs were also distributed among the heirs of the martyrs.-PR
