Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Dr Babar Awan on Monday said that a political leader's disqualification from Parliament also seizes his right to lead the party. Talking to journalists, Awan claimed that Political Parties Order 2002 has imposed bar on ousted Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif from leading Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
Awan alleged PML-N for misusing the national resources in order to create confrontation with public institutions as Nawaz Sharif has decided to stage rallies on Grand Trunk (GT) Road after his disqualification from the Parliament in pursuance of the Supreme Court order in Panama Papers case. Urging the Election Commission of Pakistan to take action against the federal and Punjab governments for their alleged interference in the upcoming by-polls in NA-120, Awan claimed that during Nawaz Sharif's rally the provincial government has asked all administrative heads of municipalities and district governments to ensure participation of their subordinates in Nawaz Sharif rallies on the GT Road.
Babar Awan warned the federal and provincial governments if the rally of Nawaz Sharif on GT Road stirs any confrontation, both the governments would be responsible for the consequence. He was of the view that a five-member larger bench of Supreme Court had announced verdict in Panama Papers case so this time there would be no option of pardon, National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) or any chance to go to Jeddah but to face references in court of law.
