Chairman Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Irfan Qaiser Sheikh has said that Japan has handed over latest machinery and equipment worth Rs 100 million for up gradation of Government College of Technology Faisalabad. While addressing a meeting for review of projects between Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and TEVTA here on Monday at TEVTA Secretariat, Irfan Qaiser said that GCT Faisalabad is being converted into Center of Excellence with the collaboration with JICA. In this regard JICA has provided latest and up to dated machinery and equipment for the up gradation of labs of the college.
He said that JICA will also upgrade further 13 institutes of TEVTA as per the collaboration. He further vowed that the collaboration with JICA will not only limit to up-gradation but Japanese master trainers are also working with Pakistani industries to upgrade TEVTA's syllabi as per industry's demands. He also observed that JICA's master trainers are already providing training to Pakistani teachers. "JICA's cooperation in this regard is really commendable," Irfan added.
Chairman TEVTA further said that the up-gradation of institutes will enhance the skills of the students and they will get the jobs across the globe. He also expressed his wish to extend the collaboration with JICA which would result in provision of training to TEVTA's students in Japan's institutes. Irfan further explained, "The secret of Japan's ultimate progress and development lies in the skilled hand."
