The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Lahore Garrison University (LGU) have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish long term, sustainable and mutually beneficial cooperation in areas of bilateral interest for promoting research, industrial linkages, trainings, education and employment opportunities between the two institutions.
LCCI President Abdul Basit and LGU Vice Chancellor Major General Ubaid Bin Zikaria (retd)) signed the MoU under which the University will appoint focal person in different standing committees of the Lahore Chamber for smooth coordination between the two organizations. The University's Research Innovation and Commercialization office will work closely on applied research projects for mutual benefit while the Lahore Chamber will help the LGU students in finding internships with its member companies.
LCCI President Abdul Basit said that the Chamber has declared 2017 the year of industry-academia linkage and in this connection. It established close linkages with the education department and also singed memorandums with various public and private universities, he said.
The LGU Vice Chancellor said that LGU would provide support to the Lahore Chamber on the economic issues besides conducting subject-specific workshops and seminars to equip the businessmen with latest working techniques.
