Two benches of the Supreme Court have been formed to hear important cases at principal seat during the week commencing from August 15. Bench I of the Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar consists of Justice Mushir Alam and Justice Sardar Tariq Masood. Bench II comprises Justice Sardar Asif Saeed Khan Khosa, Justice Dost Muhammad Khan and Justice Qazi Faez Isa.
The benches are scheduled to hear cases relating to services matters, educational institutions matters and appeals against death sentences. Fixation branch of the apex court said that no adjournment on any ground will be granted whereas no application for adjournment through fax will be placed before the court. However, if the counsel of a party is unable to appear for any reason, the Advocate-on-Record will be required to argue the case on his behalf.
