Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has appointed Lieutenant General Nasser Janjua (Retd) as National Security Adviser and Sartaj Aziz as deputy chairman of the Planning Commission, Aaj News reported on Sunday. Abbasi also appointed four other advisers. They included: Sardar Mehtab Abbasi, Jam Mashooq Ali, Amir Muqam and Irfan Siddiqui. Sartaj Aziz was adviser on foreign affairs in the Nawaz-led government but he has not been reappointed on that position while Janjua has retained the post to which he was appointed by the predecessor of Prime Minister Abbasi, as well.
