Jamaat-e-Islami central Ameer, Sirajul Haq has strongly opposed the abolishment of article 62 and 63 of the constitution, which was tantamount to undermine the country integrity, and its geographical boundaries. He called for 'across-the board' accountability.
He asked those rulers, who were supporting the amendments in the constitution, should bring change themselves. He said they will not accept any change in constitution of the country. He demanded that the dictators should be held accountable for bringing amendments in the constitution, and action must be taken against them under article 6 of the constitution.
Senator Sirajul Haq was speaking at a merger ceremony of Tehreek-e-Nijaat party into the Jamaat-e-Islami in district Pabbi. On the occasion, the Tehreek-e-Nijaat party, General Secretary Jawad Nabi Seena formally announced the merger of his party in JI and dedicated the party assets for the Jamaat-e-Islami. JI chief said that echo is basic issue of rulers, which are emphasizing for making amendments in the constitution instead of bringing changes in their aspirations and life. He said it was biggest wish of Ahmadi sect to bring changes in the present constitution of country, in which they had declared as non-Muslims.
Sirajul Haq demanded of the rulers to bring changes in their aspirations and life instead of undermining integrity and pressing for making amendments in the existing constitution of the country. He further stressed instead of giving all authorities to single persons, they must think about the democracy and democratic system.
JI chief called for supremacy of rule of law and refraining from confrontation between the institutions in the country. He said the dream of accountability can not come true until the former premier, Nawaz Sharif and General Pervez Musharraf (retd) along with all others bringing into the ambit of the constitution. He said the supremacy of rule of law was essential of progress and development of the country. "We didn't talk about personnel differences, but for better interest of country and people.
