Punjab Minister for Primary & Secondary Health Kh Imran Nazir has inaugurated "Khadim-e-Punjab Sehat Khidmat Week" at Government Mian Mir Hospital on Tuesday. During this week blood screening of nine different diseases, medical checkup of pregnant women and malnourished children would be carried out in the integrated blood screening and counselling camps which are being organized at all DHQ and THQ hospitals as well as at selected RHCs and BHUs.
After the inauguration of the health week, Imran Nazir said the main objective of this programme is to raise awareness regarding the preventive measures against these diseases among the people as well as diagnostic facilities to the people at their door step. In the camps, screening for diabetes, Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, blood pressure, hepatitis B and C are being provided.
