The Punjab police have declared Mall Road as red zone area of the provincial metropolis for having sensitive installations on it. Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Arif Nawaz Khan revealed this during a meeting with media persons here on Friday. It may be added here that Mall Road has many sensitive installations which include the offices of law enforcement agencies (LEAs), Governor House, Qurban Lines, FIA, High Court, Punjab Assembly, media outlets, CCPO office and many others.
Earlier, it was witnessed that people belonging to all walks of life used to gather at The Mall Road for recording their protest or pressing the government for acceptance of their demands. The Lahore High Court (LHC) had also imposed a complete ban over public gatherings here.
