Thunderstorm with heavy downpour hit Karachi

Karachi witnessed thunderstorm that hits the city with heavy rains that on one hand turned hot weather into pleasant and on the other caused power outages in many areas, Aaj News reported late Monday night. Major streets and thoroughfares were flooded with torrential rains that brought vehicular traffic to a halt.
Heavy rain reported in Gulistan-e-Johar, Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Malir, Korangi, Shah Faisal Colony, Shaarey Faisal, Korangi, Airport, Defence, Saddar, Federal B Area, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Guru Mandir, MA Jinnah Road, II Chundrigar Road, North Karachi, Shadman Town and other areas. The camps at the sacrificial animals markets and trees in many areas were rooted out. Many areas of Karachi plunged into darkness as dozens of K-Electric feeders tripped.
