The Lahore High Court on Friday granted stay to the students having dual nationality against collection of additional fee by public sector medical and dental colleges and sought reply from the Punjab government by fortnightly.
Representing the students Safdar Iqbal said that the medical colleges had been demanding annual fee around Rs 700,000 from the students having dual nationality. He pointed out that chief minister Punjab had restrained the colleges from colleting additional fee from the students having dual nationality.
The counsel said the medical colleges had been violating the government's notification and forcing the dual national students to deposit inflated fee. He asked the court to direct the authorities concerned to ensure implementation of the chief minister's directive and take action against the violators.
