Vice President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) and Chairman Board of Management (BoM) of Punjab Vocational Training Council Faisalabad, Engineer Ahmed Hassan said that private sector should also supplement the efforts of public sector institutions to provide technical and vocational training in order to further gear up the pace of industrial and economical growth in Pakistan.
During a meeting with Muhammad Ali Khan team leader of Private Sector Engagement Program of GIZ here Friday, he said that youth is most precious asset of Pakistan and we must equip them with necessary skills in order to fully exploit their productive and creative capabilities. He said that TEVTA, PVTC and Punjab Skills Development Fund are already working in public sector. These institutions are providing training facilities to our youth in different market driven trades in order to cater to the immediate needs of local industry in addition to exporting surplus skilled manpower to the potential international markets within the available resources.
However, he said in the wake of CPEC the demand for skilled manpower will increase manifold and existing public sector institutions are considered insufficient to meet the growing demand of the job market. Hence we must involve private sector to contribute and supplement the efforts of the public sector institutions.

Many of the passed out students of these vocational training institutes are also working abroad and are sending sizeable amount of foreign exchange to the motherland.
