The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore and Four Brothers Group (Agriculture Division) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to check the bio equivalency of locally marketed product of 4B Group to enhance the results and quality production of agricultural crops. Vice-Chancellor Meritorious Professor Dr Talat Naseer Pasha and Chairman 4B Group Engineer Jawed Salim Qureshi signed the MoU at the UVAS City Campus Lahore.
Under the MoU, UVAS will provide all technical expertise regarding bioequivalence and complete technology, services and technology training of bioequivalence laboratory personals to 4B Group Pakistan. The 4B Group will provide paid internships and facilitate UVAS postgraduate students in their research in terms of financial assistance and using lab facility on the recommendation of UVAS. It will also provide funds to UVAS technical staff and students for relevant training programs.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor Dr Talat Naseer Pasha briefed meeting participants on UVAS academic, research facilities and various dairy and meat science & technology training, extension services and human resource development programs. He said that UVAS is closely working with the industry for quality education and research.
He talked about UVAS development projects regarding establishment of Training Centre for Biologics Production, Export Facilitation Center for Livestock & Poultry Industry and Development of Camel Milk Value Chain for enhancing farmers' profitability in Punjab. He lauded the role of Punjab Food Authority and supported its step to ban soft drinks in schools, replacing them with the flavored milk to provide healthy nutrition in schoolchildren in Punjab. He also discussed the areas of collaboration and enhancing cooperation in the areas of mutual interest.
Professor Dr Masood Rabbani said that with the passage of time huge expansion is recorded in the area of poultry, dairy and livestock sector even UVAS updated its veterinary curriculum according to the modern day need. Jawed Salim Qureshi said that private sector and academia alliance is very effective in terms of human resource development and entrepreneurship not only in Pakistan even in the world. Dean Faculty of Biosciences Professor Dr Habib-ur-Rehaman and Director External Linkages Dr Imtiaz Rabbani and 4B Group officials were present on the occasion.
