The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) in its focused drive to apprehend drug suppliers to students of academic institutions across the country has arrested 20 persons including a woman and recovered 6.4 kg drugs worth Rs 7 million. The recovered drugs include 6.3 kg hashish and 26 gram Ice.
Giving details of the campaign, Joint Director ANF said the ANF has deployed special Surveillance Teams to surface drug gangs involved in drug supply at educational institutions and special drive to identify and arrest these criminal elements is underway across the country.
He said ANF Lahore recovered 130 grams hashish from personal possession of an accused identified as Mazhar Hussain resident of Faisalabad near Sandal College, Millat Road, Faisalabad. As per reports, the accused was involved in supply of drugs to the students of educational institutions. In other operation, ANF Lahore recovered 150 grams hashish from personal possession of an accused identified as Mahmood Ahmed resident of Faisalabad from Gate No. 2, Agricultural University Faisalabad.
Yet in another operation, ANF Lahore intercepted a motorcyclist identified as Muhammad Ahmed resident of Lahore near University of Management & Technology, Faisal Garden, Lahore, recovering 250 gram hashish from his personal possession. In fourth operation, ANF Lahore arrested Ijaz resident of Lahore who was reportedly involved in supply of drugs to the students of educational institutions.
In fifth operation, ANF Lahore intercepted a motorcycle near University of Education, Lahore and recovered 140 gram hashish from the possession of an accused Sher Ali resident of Lahore. In sixth operation, ANF Lahore stopped a motorcyclist near Quaid-e-Azam Academy for Educational Development, Wahdat Road, Lahore, recovering 110 grams hashish from Ghulam Rasool resident of Vehari.
In seventh operation, ANF Lahore recovered 120 gram hashish from Imran Raouf resident of Lahore arresting him near MAO College, Lahore. In eighth operation, ANF team arrested Akram and Irfan both resident of Multan who were reportedly involved in drug distribution among the students of Civil Lines College, Multan and recovered 300 gram hashish from their possession.
In ninth operation, ANF Lahore recovered 160 grams hashish from Ali Asghar resident of Faisalabad who was arrested near Govt. Post Graduate College of Science, Samanabad, Faisalabad. In tenth operation, ANF Lahore recovered 120 grams hashish from the possession of a woman named Razia Bibi resident of Lahore who was arrested near Lahore College of Women University, Jail Road.
In eleventh operation, ANF Lahore arrested Sajjad resident of Khanewal and Asghar resident of Okara, recovering 250 grams hashish from their possession. They were arrested near Girls Hostel, Nishter Medical College, Nishter Road, Multan. In twelfth operation, a local drug peddler was apprehended namely Kashif Ali resident of Faisalabad, recovering 150 grams hashish from personal possession.
In thirteenth operation, ANF Lahore recovered hashish from personal possession of the accused identified as Nisar Ahmed resident of Lahore who was arrested near Rizwan Academy Green Town, Lahore. He said ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a motorcycle near Judicial Colony, Gulzar-e-Quaid, Rawalpindi and arrested three persons identified as Shahbaz, Naveed Iqbal and Raja Muhammad Dawar, all residents of Rawalpindi along with 450 gram hashish. As per reports, they were involved in supply of drugs to the students of Capital University of Science and Technology and Roots School System, Rawalpindi.
In another operation, ANF Rawalpindi arrested a local drug peddler named Naseer Khan, resident of Attock while he was riding on a motorcycle near Chawan Meel Chowk, Attock Basal Road, Attock and recovered 250 grams hashish from his personal possession. ANF Peshawar arrested Yar Muhammad, an Afghan national, Sabir Hussain resident of Jhelum, Amjad Ali resident of Manshera and Maloom Shah resident of Khyber Agency near Karkhano Market, Peshawar and recovered 26 grams Ice from their possession. As per reports, they were involved in supply of drugs to the students of educational institutions.
ANF Karachi apprehended Ali Gul Wasan resident of Khairpur who was reportedly involved in distribution of drugs to the students of educational institutions and recovered 3.5 kg hashish from his possession. The Joint Director said that all cases have been registered at respective ANF Police Stations and further investigations are underway.
