PTI dissident Member of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Ziaullah Afridi has submitted resolution in the Provincial Assembly Secretariat for asking Ehtesab Commission for taking against the government functionaries including Chief Minister Pervez Khattak in illegal recruitment of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (PEDO).
The resolution said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is a poor province, but still an incompetent person, Akbar Ayub was appointed as head of PEDO, a subordinate organization of the Energy and Power Department of it. Though the post was of technical nature, but still a non-qualified person was recruited on the recommendation of the senior PTI leader, Asad Omar and later illegal recruitments were made through him.
The appointment of such non-technical person, the resolution had inflicted financial expenditures to the tone of millions of rupees on the impoverished province, which is sheer injustice with the poor people of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The resolution adds that as the approval of the recruitment of the incompetent person as CEO PEDO was given by the Chief Minister Pervez Khattak through misusing his powers, which is tantamount to the violation of the Sections 23/24 of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission (KPEC), but so far it had not initiated proceedings against Pervez Khattak, Akbar Ayub and Asad Omar, which is sheer cruelty and injustice.
Furthermore, the resolution said that institutions around the world are formed for the development of the country, but incompetent rulers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have established them on the basis of nepotism and ample proofs of such instances are included organizations like Bank of Khyber (BoK), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KPEZDMC) and Street Children House (Zamung Kor) etc. He through the resolution has requested Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer, Senator Siraj-ul-Haq who has initiated a country-wide anti-corruption war to join him in raising voice against those who are darkening the bright future of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Therefore, the resolution requests the provincial government that the KPEC should initiate proceedings against the concerned persons with immediate effect.
