Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Friday arrested two persons on charges of fraud while offering fake job in China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to a university professor and taking a huge amount from him as a processing fee for the job. An official said that out of the two accused namely Ali Ahmad Bhatti and Sohail Baig arrested by the FIA's cyber crime wing, one impersonated Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal and asked for huge sum of money.
The action was taken against the suspects after the professor filed an FIR No. 55/16 on account of fraud against him. He said that the both accused were arrested whose bank accounts were used to transfer the money and recover the amount. According to the official, initial investigations suggest that the gang used multiple bank accounts to complicate tracking of transactions. The agency has arrested two suspects and further investigation is underway, he added.
