Minister for Foreign Affairs Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Sunday said that Pakistan was making hectic efforts towards eliminating the menace of terrorism in the country. Talking to Business Recorder here, he said that Pakistan had rendered great sacrifices of precious human lives and suffered a huge economic loss in the war against terrorism and the world should recognise the scarifies rendered by Pakistan in war against terrorism and ignoring the sacrifices will be unjust. No country in the world has done more than Pakistan to counter the menace of terrorism and no country of the globes has suffered more than Pakistan, he said.
The foreign minister said, "We are minutely reviewing the new US strategy about Afghanistan and South Asia adding that Pakistan would benefit more peaceful Afghanistan than any other country in the world. It is very disappointing that US statement ignores the enormous scarifies rendered by Pakistan effort whereas most of the countries had recognised the sacrifices of Pakistan in war against terrorism, he said. Pakistan is committed in taking action against terrorism without any discrimination and efforts to wipe out terrorism would continue, he said. The minister said that Pakistan is peace-loving country and keen in developing cordial relations with neighbouring counties on the basis of equal footings and we are making strenuous efforts to maintain peace in the region for the larger interest of the masses. He said after parliament session he would visit regional countries for bilateral consultation on current issues adding that Parliament will discuss different aspects of the situation developed after US strategy about Afghanistan and South Asia.
