Speakers at 'Pakistan Date Show and Seminar' underscored the need for improvement in the quality of dates production in Sindh and Baluchistan provinces by using latest technology and development of processing plants. The event was organized by Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) here at Expo Centre the other day. As many as 40 date growers, exporters, traders, and value added manufacturers from Sindh and Balochistan participated in the event. They displayed wide variety of dates growing in Sindh and Baluchistan.
Sajid Jamal Abro, Secretary Agriculture Government of Sindh inaugurated the show. Meanwhile, over a dozen of speakers from Sindh and Baluchistan made speeches and presentations during the seminar. During the Seminar the speakers emphasized on improvement of quality of dates production in the both provinces with latest technology and development of processing plants in the region. They further suggested that there is a huge scope on value addition of dates and our exporters will earn huge foreign exchange by exporting value added products of dates.
Sindh and Baluchistan Dates Growers Associations appreciated the efforts of TDAP in organizing Date Show and awareness on value added on dates and urged TDAP to make this event as a regular annual feature. They also suggested organizing awareness seminars. During the Seminar Director General (DG) TDAP Usman Narejo assured the growers and exporters of dates that the authority would facilitate the growers and exporters by arranging their participation in international exhibitions and will send their delegations to potential international markets for promotion of export of dates.
