All ten members of managing committee of Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) has been elected unopposed for the year 2017-18. Rafique Suleman, Safder Hussain Mehkri, Abdul Qayum Paracha and Teka Mal have been elected as member managing committee for Corporate Class of South Zone. While, Muhammad Jawed Jillani has been elected member managing committee for Associate Class of South Zone. While, Muhammad Asif Polani will be co-opt as member managing later.
For North Zone, Chaudhry Samiullah Naeem, Waqas Aslam, Ali Hussam Asghar and Haji Lal Khan have been elected unopposed on Corporate Seats. For Associate class Hassan Aziz has been elected unopposed. Former chairman REAP and newly elected member managing committee Rafique Suleman has said that South Zone group of REAP is united under the leadership of Abdul Rahim Janoo and win all five seats of South Zone in REAP's annual elections 2017.
He said that all newly elected managing committee members are energetic and experienced businessmen and have the aim to work for the betterment of rice export trade which was facing hardships since last couple of years. Suleman said that Research and Development for the rice sector will the top priority of newly elected body to enhance the per acre yield. He has also appreciated efforts of present chairman REAP Mahmood Baqi Moulvi for excellent work for the rice trade.
