A delegation of UK trade officials visited Sialkot, Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi to show the UK's continuing support for deepening trade ties with Pakistan and held various meetings. The delegation met with the Ministry of Commerce in Islamabad where they underlined the UK's desire to deepen bilateral trade. They reiterated the UK's commitment to GSP+ and encouraged Pakistan to continue its reforms to meet its commitments. They reiterated the aim of maintaining the preferential market access Pakistan currently enjoys under GSP+ after the UK leaves the EU.
The delegation visited the Punjab Board of Investment and Trade and the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry to explore potential investment, trade and business opportunities in Punjab. In Sialkot, they visited the Sialkot International Airport where they met with the Chairman and Directors and discussed how the UK can play a role in the airport's expansion plans. They paid a visit to the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry to talk about trade and investment cooperation. Their final stop in Sialkot was a factory supplying footballs used in the English Football League to see the success of Pakistan industry first hand.
In Karachi the delegation paid a visit to the Pakistan Stock Exchange and met with the Pakistan Business Council. They also visited Dolmen Mall to see a number of UK retail firms who are investing in Pakistan.
