Pakistan Army distributed sweets to Afghan Army on Torkham border on Friday as Eidul Azha was being celebrated in Afghanistan. In this connection in a simple gathering, the Pak official Lieutenant Col. Mubashir greeted the Eid celebration to his Afghan counterpart, Col. Nisar. Sweets and gifts were also presented to the Afghan official as a goodwill gesture.
According to political administration of Khyber Agency, Lt Colonel Mubashir of Pakistan Army distributed sweets among Afghan security forces on the border. Troops of both countries on this occasion prayed for friendly relations and restoration of peace in the region. The Afghan forces thanked the Pakistani troops for the goodwill gesture.
Eidul Azha is being celebrated in Gulf countries, Afghanistan and some parts of Pakistan. The Afghan border security officials thanked the Pak officials and said Pakistan and Afghanistan are two brotherly neighboring countries and will always share together moments of joy and grief, the Afghan official remarked.
Since long it is a tradition that as good omen officials of the both countries exchange salutation on the occasion of their independence days or any religious rites day.
