Major terror bid foiled ahead of Eid-ul-Azha

Security forces here Friday foiled a major terror bid in Peshawar ahead of Eid-ul-Azha. Police, army, elite force and intelligence personnel conducted an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) in Regi area of Peshawar. At least 87 suspects were taken into custody during the raids in Shahgai, Ali Muhammad Banda, Neela Dorai and Mian Morcha areas of the city.
Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Operations Peshawar Sajjad Khan said that at least 27 rocket mortars, 24 rocket shells, 17 hand-grenade bombs, 16 kalashnikovs, 28 pistols and 17 rifles were recovered in the operation. He said the operation was held late night in Khyber Agency and surrounding areas and was aided by political administration.
