Faisalabad Waste Management Company (FWMC) lifted more than 18,500 ton waste of sacrificial animals during the three days of Eid-ul-Azha from the 157 Union Councils of the city and disposed off it at the dumping site 18 KM away from city at Jaranwala road.
Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani and Mayor Municipal Corporation Muhammad Razzaq Malik supervised the cleanliness campaign. They went to clock tower Chowk, Jhang road, Satyana road, Samanaabad, D Type colony, Canal road, Millat road, Sheikhupura road, Jail road, Jaranwala road, Ghulam Muhammad Abad and other localities of city and inspected the cleanliness condition in the city.
MD FWMC Colonel Ammad Iqbal Gill, Manager Operation Ejaz Bandesha and other officers of FWMC were also accompanied with them. DC and Mayor visited various localities of the city to check the performance of the waste workers of FWMC and distributed Bio De-gradable Bags among citizens. They appealed the citizens to cooperate with the waste workers and not to throw the offal's, intestines and other waste of animals in the sewerage lines, on the roads and other public places. They informed that 216 pickup vehicles, 88 loader rickshaws, dumpers, excavators, shovels and other heavy machinery have been utilized for this big exercise of cleanliness. They also inter-acted the people and said under the directions of CM Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, the special operation was being carried out for lifting animals' waste to maintain cleanliness. They said that cleanliness operation also being supervised by the provincial authorities for ensuring zero waste. They said that cleanliness in the city would be maintained by speedy disposal off the sacrificial animal waste.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani and Mayor MCF Muhammad Razzaq Malik inaugurated the operation regarding washing of the city roads and collective points of sacrificial animals by the FWMC. MD FWMC Ammad Iqbal Gill and other officers of FWMC were also present. Deputy Commissioner and Mayor MCF said that the stains of the blood of sacrificial animals and other waste would be washed by using the different chemicals. They said washing operation would be completed quickly.
MD FWMC said that all out resources have been utilized for cleanliness operation in the city and during the Eid days quick redress was taken on more than three thousands telephone calls of the citizens.
