Milli Yakjehti Council (MYC) on Tuesday called upon the government to take lead in extending help and support to the oppressed Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar. MYC leaders stated this while addressing a joint press conference here emphasized that the Islamic world should also raise the issue at a proper forum on how to rescue the under attack Muslims in Myanmar.
They said that a humanitarian crisis has originated in Burma since long, which was getting worst with each passing day as the brutal Burmese army was killing innocent Muslims and contributing in their planned genocide. "The Muslim brethren have to come forward to launch an international effort in Burma instead of condemning through words only," they maintained. MYC leaders contended that on this humanitarian crisis, the government of Pakistan must summon envoy of Myanmar and to express the anger and feelings of the people of Pakistan.
Just issuing statements and condemning Myanmar government for ongoing genocide of Rohingya Muslims is not enough. The entire Ummah should take joint steps in forcing the Myanmar army to stop decades long oppression against Rohingya Muslims. Senior leader of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Mian Muhammad Aslam, Sajid Ali Naqvi, Nasir Sherazi, Pir Abdul Rahim Naqshbandi, Amin Shaheedi, Mufti Gulzar Naeemi, Asif Luqman Qazi, Sultan Ahmad Ali, Ziaullah Shah Bukhari, Khalid Mehmood Abbasi, Saifullah Khalid, Molana Umar Farooq and other MYC leaders addressed the press conference.
